Episode 4

The Story-view

Unlike previous episodes, this episode finally takes us behind the curtain. The whole episode gives us a look through a different pair of eye as it takes us deeper to the plot of WandaVision with SWORD. All the mysteries we saw in episodes 1, 2 and 3 are now solved as we get to know how SWORD dealt with this whole situation. This episode starts with post-endgame scenes, with Monica Rambeau coming back in a hospital from being dusted. Later on, she found out that her mom, Maria Rambeau, died during her time being vanished. We see how Monica got in touch with Jimmy Woo and how she entered the sitcom reality of Wanda. We get shots of Darcy Lewis trying to figure out whats happening and actually finding the solution of how to communicate with Wanda. Monica being kicked out of the sitcom reality, which was not shown in episode 3, is showed in this episode and we get to see the villainous form of Wanda which makes her more dangerous than ever.

Ending

The ending of this episode was actually the unseen footage of the ending of the previous episode showing us how Monica was thrown out of the sitcom reality of Wanda. Monica was thrown away with Wanda's power through the walls outside the energy fields. Wanda fixed the walls later before Vision appears. But for a second, Vision's dead body form was seen by Wanda which could be a hallucination or she was just imagining. The body had no mind stone and was pale in color, like the lifeless body seen in Avengers Infinity War after Thanos took out the mind stone from his head.

Vision says to Wanda that if she wants, they can go live somewhere else. But Wanda replies that that is their home and she has everything under her control. This proves that Wanda will do anything to save this sitcom reality and live her beautiful life the way she wanted, and she doesn't want anyone to interfere.

Major Details

Now coming to details, when Monica Rambeau was in SWORD Headquarters, we get to see her mother's name written in honors as Maria "Photon" Rambeau. Photon is actually the name of superhero Monica Rambeau in Marvel Comics. When Monica was thrown out of the sitcom reality, we see the red glowing power engulfing Monica the whole time. This glow was quite similar to the one with Tesseract which gave Carol Danvers her powers. As Monica Rambeau is the future of MCU, she can possibly turn into a superhero in future and this could be her origin story. Being engulfed with Wanda's power and her being thrown away through the energy fields, might fuse together to create such powers in her and turn her Photon from the Marvel Comics.

Another small detail was seen in the Westview citizens reveal chart. Every major characters from the first three episodes' real names were revealed in the episode with their IDs. But, the real name and ID of Agnes was missing in that scene. Therefore, the theory of her being the witch Agatha Harkness gets more wights to the show. Also, Dottie, who was introduced in episode 2, was missing in that list. Could Dottie be a mysterious character for the show in upcoming episodes?

Another big confirmation is that, Vision is dead. For a brief moment, we get to see the dead Vision from Wanda's eyes. This was like a horror scene and even Wanda couldn't bear to look at him that way.

Final Verdict

The opening scene was just amazing and it brings out the full way how it will feel if the blip really happened in our life. So far, we only saw the good side of the blip as family members and friends come back from being vanished but the panic and confusion that happens here is outstanding and this is one of the best opening in an MCU project. The emotions, mystery solving, twists, together has merged to form a great and mind-blowing episode. Unlike the other episodes, this episode shows us what this show is capable of showing us and how far this show will stretch the cinematic universe.

Rating: 8.75/10
