How Powerful is Thor's Stormbreaker?

Stormbreaker is one of the most powerful weapons introduced in the MCU. It is the strongest weapon in the Asgard history, being made with Uru, the weapon is highly indestructible. In Thor: Ragnarok, you have certainly noticed that Hela, Thor's long lost sister, easily broke Mjolnir with one hand.

In Infinity War, Thor returns to the realm of Nidavellir where he hopes the dwarves to forge a new hammer for him to kill Thanos. There he found Peter Dinklage's character Eitri to be the only survivor among the dwarf weapon makers. Thor insisted to forge a new hammer from the energy of the dying star. By reigniting the star, by its energy a new weapon was formed which was termed by Eitri as the strongest weapon he made till date.

Stronger than all infinity stones combined:

Stormbreaker has the power to resist the enormous energy produced from the five infinity stones combined. Thor had surpassed the Mad Titan's energy beam and had put the Stormbreaker into his chest. But due to the advantage of having Space stone, the Mad Titan escaped from the grasp of the God of Thunder (and we know what happened next, he really should have gone for the head!).

Summoning Bifrost:

No one can forget the dramatic entrance Thor made in Wakanda during Infinity War. Stormbreaker is also able to channel dimensional energy and act as Bifrost Bridge, which is shown when Thor teleports himself, Rocket Raccoon and Groot to Wakanda instantly.

Eligible Melee Weapon:

Due to the increased size and mass, having both axe head and hammer head in its structure as well as the elongated handle, enabling the weapon to be wielded by both hands, this weapon is far more potent melee weapon than Mjolnir. As a weapon designed to kill Thanos, it could cut through his flesh and was even able to resist the combined power of all infinity stones.

Powered-up Stormbreaker:

Like it was said in Thor: Ragnarok, Thor's power doesn't come from weapons, rather it helps him to channel the lightning into it and enhancing the power of the lightning blasts. Stormbreaker is also the weapon to focus and enhance Thor's powers. We have seen Thor fight without his hammer in Thor: Ragnarok and understand that hammers are not the carrier of his power rather they are just to channel his powers through it. The power of Stormbreaker can also be attributed to the fact that Thor realised his powers after the events of Ragnarok and which gave him much needed boost and powering up the Stormbreaker.

Flying seamlessly:

Just like Mjolnir, Stormbreaker will return to Thor's hand when summoned and strike opponents with massive lightning force. It glows with blue flame, crackles with lightning and can take out not dozens but hundreds of opponents with a single heave. In addition, Stormbreaker also allows Thor to fly seamlessly while using it, unlike Mjlonir, which required to spin at a great speed in order to lift him off the ground.

Thor Odinson, the God of Thunder, is indeed one of the strongest members of the Avengers initiative. With the power of Stormbreaker, he really is the someone the villains should fear. Who knows if he has hit his highest potential yet or we may see more incredible powers from him in his next movie.
