Swiss star Basil Eidenbenz will play popular Witcher Eskel in the second season of The Witcher replacing Thue Ersted Rasmussen for the role. For those who don't recognize him, the 27-year old acted alongside Jenna Coleman in Victoria and in a drama series, The Athena.
According to Deadline, Rasmussen was among the seven new cast members announced by Netflix for Season 2. The production was supposed to re-start in August 17 but was resumed early of schedule. Rasmussen already had done some filming but after the production resumed, Eidenbenz took over the role of Eskel, who is also a Witcher but from the school of the Wolf with strong magic powers.
On his departure, Rasmussen, in his note, called the decision to exit The Witcher "heartbreaking" and added "But I mostly feel happy and grateful for the days I got to spend on the set earlier this year," He concluded, "I'm sure Season 2 will be absolutely amazing and now I get to watch it as a fanboy instead of as a Witcher."
The Witcher resumed it production last month after half a year stoppage due to the Coronavairus pandemic. The production resumed early of schedule and is going smoothly from then. What do you expect from The Witcher Season 2? Let us know in the comment section below!
