The Creator of My Hero Academia has embraced a Spider-Man movie as his beloved treasured movie

My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi shares Sony Pictures and Marvel Studio's Spider-Man: No Way Home is officially his favorite movie. 2021 was possibly the biggest year for the character Spider-Man of all time, at least for media, even though the character existed for several decades. After the major fallout of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the third installment went all in to wrap up Peter Parker's trilogy with a big bang. Not only did the creative team find a way to tackle Spider-Man's identity situation, but it also served as a tribute to three generations of the web-slinger's cinematic adventure.

Marvel Studios has begun exploring the multiverse concept throughout Phase 4 by introducing alternative realities with different takes on some of the iconic Marvel heroes and villains. Spider-Man: No Way Home was no exception as it allowed Tom Holland's Spider-Man to join forces with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's respective Spideys. In addition to their participation, villains from the Sam Raimi and Marc Webb franchises also took part in the Spider-Man threequel. As of February 2022, Spider-Man: No Way Home is close to reaching $1.8 billion dollars at the global box office, as the world is collectively sharing its love for the film.

While regular fans are showing their admiration for Spider-Man: No Way Home, creators in the industry are also expressing their love for Spider-Man's latest outing. One of them is none other than Kōhei Horikoshi, who is the creator of the popular manga My Hero Academia. In a recent Q&A with Viz, the Japanese artist briefly chatted about Spider-Man: No Way Home, as he had recently seen it, declaring it his new all-time favorite film. Horikoshi shared the following:

"I watched Spider-Man! I never thought my favorite movie of all time would change at my age."

It's perfectly understandable that Spider-Man: No Way Home is having such an impact on all sorts of fans. While many superhero franchises have/will be able to accomplish a lot, only a handful can do what No Way Home did, particularly due to the multiverse. Spider-Man has and always will be one of the most iconic comic book heroes in the entire world.

Similar to Batman and Superman, Spider-Man is known all over the world in an endless list of countries to several generations. In the web-crawler's case, he's one of few characters that have been interpreted on the big-screen multiple times within the last 20 years. That's why seeing Holland, Maguire, and Garfield together has made the film a universally beloved product. Whenever the next Spider-Man trilogy kicks off, it will be intriguing to discover what Sony and Marvel have cooked up for the hero's next story.
