Loki Season 2: Tom Hiddleston Promises Even More Surprises for the Next Season

Loki Season 1 had an incredible run with mind-blowing twists and turns, taking Marvel Cinematic Universe to a place it has never been before. With Season 2 confirmed in the mid-credits of the finale episode, it is now clear that the story of our God of Mischief is far from over.

The last episode of Loki Season 1 revealed the man behind TVA at the end of time is He Who Remains, played by Jonathan Majors. It is also confirmed that He Who Remains is a Variant of Kang the Conqueror, whose appearance is teased by the ending of the finale. With the establishment of Multiverse and Kang confirmed to appear in Ant-Man: Quantumania, we can see him playing the role of a big bad like Thanos in these upcoming years.

Loki Season 2 will tie right back into the Ant-Man: Quantumania and it seems the upcoming season will have the same amount of unexpected twists.

Loki star Tom Hiddleston in an interview with Marvel, expressed his gratitude for the fans and said that he still cannot process that they will have another go in Season 2. He said,

I am so grateful that we got to do Season 1, I still am not quite able to process that we get to have another go at this. I am so excited by the possibilities. We are already in discussions. Deep, deep,deep discussions. I can't wait to get started. I want to say thank you to the audience because without the audience we wouldn't be able to make Season 2. I hope Season 1 was full of surprises. And I think Season 2 will be full of even more.

As Season 2 is confirmed and the crew are already in deep discussions, it can be said that we can expect the second season somewhat near late 2022 or early 2023, before Ant-Man: Quantumania. With Kang the Conqueror now leading the TVA, it is highly possible that we will get more of Jonathan Majors' elite acting as Kang in the upcoming season.

Having established the multiverse, it is for sure that the Marvel Cinematic Universe we knew will not be the same. Alternate variants of characters will be the key to the coming multiverse-centric storylines and we will get more of such variants throughout the decade.
