X-Men's Evan Peters to appear in Disney+ WandaVision series. Recently Marvel fans are buzzing with the news that he has been added in the cast of this new Marvel Disney+ series, WandaVision. Though this doesn't prove the confirmation of the appearance of X-Men's Quicksilver in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this mysterious addition to the cast may mean a new character which is to be involved in this series.
Evan Peters was spotted on the WandaVision set (probably by a paparazzi who was taking photos of the filming). Of course we don't know if he is in the show or was just visiting, but as he has been added to the cast list, you can believe what the internet is already thinking.
Recently a rumor about Tobey Maguire appearing in Doctor Strange 2 surfaced the internet. It might mean that Marvel is looking to use previous iteration of the characters in their cinematic universe.
But Kevin Feige has already stated that X-Men and MCU crossover is very unlikely to happen at this time but we may see it at sometime during phase 5 or 6. So, we should not get excited about the X-Men Quicksilver getting involved in MCU.
Most realistically, he could play a new character. He could play Speed, one of the twin children of Wanda and Vision. But it is still unlikely as Speed is supposed to be a teenager and later on, a part of the Young Avengers. More on Young Avengers here.
But as he's older than the rumored age of them in MCU, it's possible he could play some other character.
But it's possible he could play a villain in the series like Mephisto. In comics, Mephisto, a devilish demon, is an immortal being.
He can produce illusions, alternate reminiscences, alter time. With any individual's will, he can capture soul. As we have seen in the short teaser of WandaVision, all of us totally noticed the time-jumps in the shots. Maybe, Mephisto might be the reason behind these time-jumps and he may prove to be an important character in the whole series.
For the role of Evan Peters in this series, we have to wait six more months as the first episode releases in December 2020. Reports say that WandaVision series will resume filming in the next month, July. More set photos finally may reveal the mysterious role Evan Peters is playing for this Disney+ series.
