Avengers Endgame was the cumulation of the entire Infinity Saga and 21 movies that came before it. In the current MCU timeline there is no Avengers team. Tony and Nat are gone, Steve is old, Clint has retired and Thor is out in space with the Guardians. Banner is the only one left on Earth. Endgame marked the end of the first incarnation of the Avengers team which we had been seeing since 2012. But in the comics there were many incarnations of the team. Young Avengers is one of them. Infact the Young Avengers was formed when the Avengers team disassembled. In the MCU we are most likely heading towards Young Avengers series or movie or both.
So here are a few characters who we want to see in the Young Avengers team. Do note that we will not be including Peter Parker Spider-Man, as we think he would be a part of the New Avengers team instead of the Young Avengers. Now let's get started with the list.
Cassie Lang
Let's start with the most obvious one, Cassie Lang, the daughter of Scott Lang a.k.a. Ant-Man. In the comics she is one of the founding members of the Young Avengers. In the MCU, she showed her interest to be a superhero in Ant-Man and the Wasp. She was definitely too young to be a superhero at that time. But after the 5 year time jump in Avengers Endgame, we see a 14 year old Cassie played by actress Emma Furhmann. In the comics she became Stature after her father had died. So she could have already become Stature in the MCU during the 5 years when Scott was trapped in the Quantum realm. But we can expect her to finally be Stature on-screen in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp sequel.
Wiccan and Speed
Wiccan and Speed are two twin children of Wanda Maximoff(Scarlet Witch) and Vision. WandaVision could be the show where both of them introduced. Wiccan and speed both inherit their powers from their mother. Speed has power similar to his uncle Quicksilver who died in Age of Ultron. Recently an audition clip for two kids playing role in WandaVision was leaked and it is widely speculated that they would play the role of Wiccan and Speed for a few episodes. It is also rumored that the show would be set in a pocket dimension where time flows fast. So we could see Wiccan and Speed be born in the series and at the end of the Season they would be teenagers.
Kate Bishop
Last year during SDCC, Kevin Feige revealed that they are working on a Hawkeye Disney+ series. He also revealed that we would be seeing Kate Bishop in the series. She could be trained by the sharpshooter to become the new Hawkeye in the series and later on be a part of the Young Avengers. She could also become the leader of the team, which would be a nice setup for the next Hawkeye. Marvel is hoping to get a raising star like Hailee Steinfeld to play the role of Kate Bishop.
Ms. Marvel
Kamala Khan will star in the upcoming Ms. Marvel series. Though she is not a member of the Young Avengers in the comics, but Marvel Studios is known for making necessary changes from the comics while adapting them to the big screen. Ms. Marvel series will give the fans plenty of time to know this inhuman.
Iron Lad
Iron Man 3 introduced us with an intelligent kid named Harley Keener. Harley was again seen in Avengers Endgame during Tony's funeral. It could easily be Marvel planting seeds for Iron Lad. Though in the comics, Nathaniel Richards is Iron Lad. But as we have mentioned earlier, Marvel Studios is not afraid to make necessary changes.
An interesting thing about Iron Lad is that he is an alternate version of Kang, the Conqueror. Kang is a big villain in the comics standing toe-to-toe with Thanos and Doctor Doom. Kang is a time traveller. Endgame dealt with time travel. Again Loki series is rumored to introduce TVA(Time Variance Authority). So it seems like Kang is coming sooner than later and it will be interesting to see the hero and the villain be the same person.
Kid Loki
Loki a fan favorite character thanks to Tom Hiddleston' portrayal of the character. Though the main mcu timeline Loki sacrificed himself at the beginning of Infinity War but there is still a Loki lurking around the multiverse. The tale of this Loki will be explored in the upcoming Loki series. This series might also introduce us with female Loki and kid Loki, who will somehow make way to the main timeline and be a part of the Young Avengers. Rumors have already started circulating about Marvel casting actor like Finn Wolfhard for the role.
Hulkling
The half-Kree/half-Skrull is the son of Mar-Vell in the comics and one of the original members of the Young Avengers too, making him an obvious choice to do the same in the MCU. Recent reports point to Marvel looking to cast someone to play Hulkling in WandaVision. Moreover Marvel Studios looking to further diversify their heroes. In the comics Hulkling is paired with Wiccan which could blossom on screen as well.
Shuri
We want Shuri, the genius sister of T'Challa to be a part of the team. She is not a part of the team in the comics. But we can hope her to be a part in the MCU. She would definitely be the Tony Stark for the Young Avengers. Though it's unlikely we would like her to be a part of the team.
Captain.....
It is hard to imagine an Avengers team without an incarnation of Captain America. We could see either Patriot or Miss America in the team. They both have been members of Young Avengers in the comics. It will be interesting to see whom Marvel Studios chooses to include in the rooster.
