Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is reportedly set to start filming in Late 2021. With James Gunn re-hired as the director of the movie, the production will not delay anymore and will start filming on schedule with a goal of 2022 release date.
The future of the Guardians of the Galaxy series was thrown into question when Disney fired James Gunn. The script of the third installment was already written and was in the middle of pre-production. But with the firing of James Gunn, Vol.3 was put on hold. Less than a year later, Disney re-hired Gunn to finish the triology of this epic intergalactic franchise. But within then, Gunn was already working on DC's The Suicide Squad and as a result, the Marvel movie was pushed back yet again.

Now, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is expected to begin shooting in the late 2021, making it the third movie to be filmed in that year. The main cast are reported to reprise their roles and with Gunn as their writer and their director. There have been no rumors or leaks on the plot till now. But we do hope to get information when the normal life resumes again and the film industry don't delay the production as well as release dates.
With already a few Marvel movies on production session and three movies for production in 2021, the years 2021 and 2022 might turn out to be the best year for Marvel fans and a turning point of The Marvel Cinematic Universe.
