Disney+ and Marvel Studios have finally unveiled an exclusive clip of the Marvel Disney+ Loki series, that shows Tom Hiddleston back in action as the fan-favourite Loki, the God of Mischief. Loki was last seen in Avengers Infinity War where he was brutally killed by Thanos and in Avengers Endgame where the Loki of 2012 was creating chaos in New York.
The new Disney+ show is a official part of the Marvel Phase 4 and one of the very first MCU shows alongside WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Like every Marvel content, the Loki trailer also has some details
hidden in different scenes. We tried to breakdown the trailer and found
some very important, interesting and unusual details and easter eggs
that may connect to the Disney+ series' plot. Here's what we know so
far.
Trailer Breakdown
1. The trailer starts off with the footage of Loki escaping in Avengers
Endgame leading him to steal the Tesseract while disappearing. Then we
see a flash of lightning similar to The Bifrost. We also find later, Loki crash landing in a desert with no mouthpiece, no
Tesseract. So, it is for sure that this scene was not the next scene of
the disappearance of Loki from 2012. This is another scene in the series
where Loki might have crash landed from somewhere else.
2. In the next scene, we see Loki in an elevator with Owen Wilson's character Mobius M Mobius. The name refers to the Mobius Strip which Tony Stark
used to finish his research on Time Travel. Notice the three figure
co-ordinate like numbers in the elevator. This could be the x,y,z axis
co-ordinates of other alternate realities whereas the elevator is a
bridge for it. The symbols in between could be the type of realities to
choose from the side co-ordinates. There are many theories around the
internet, some of them seems real and some not. Actually, it's very
confusing for all to determine the true meaning of these "number". But
this sure will hold a quite important plot for the series.
In
this scene, we see Loki wearing a shirt of TVA (Time Variance
Authority) as Wilson's character says, "Time passes differently here in
TVA."
3. In this scene, we see a hooded figure carrying a lantern. Some say this is
Marvel's Greatest Villain, Doctor Doom. But no, this could actually be
"Lady Loki" as we know that the character has been confirmed for the
series. Some also theorized that this could be an "Old Loki" from an
alternate timeline played by Richard E. Grant, where he didn't have any
character developments and is here as a villainous future form of Loki.
But this is to be informed that the Old Loki theory is not fully correct
and Richard may play different character.
4. Next,
we see Loki in a room. If you look in the
mirror, you will notice that Loki is carrying the Sceptor in his hand
and the room is actually the floor of Avengers Tower from the scene where Loki was talking with Tony in 2012. This could mean, he is re-doing the
battle of 2012 in New York or visiting another timeline of his
villainous form.
5. After that, Loki was summoned before a judge in a court. Three faces are
noticeable here which was previously thought to be MCU's Living Tribunal
having three faces. These three faces were also seen in the next scene.
This
scene proves that the three faces are of three figures, which are The
Time Keepers. Time Keepers have quite a history with Kang (whom we will
see in Antman and the Wasp: Quantamania). In the MCU, The Time Keepers are
apparently the founders of TVA.
6. In the next shot, we see Loki with Wilson's character watching a
projection of Loki from different timelines specifically in this scene, the prime MCU timeline. The pose in
the projection is actually from Thor Ragnarok when he came to Asgard to save his people from Hela.
But
Loki, in this series, is from 2012. So he has not witnessed Ragnarok.
This could be Wilson's character showing Loki of 2012, his future and
how his future would have been if he hadn't disappeared from the
Avengers Endgame scene. So this means Wilson's character will also show
him how he would have died by Thanos too so that Loki can understand
what situation he is at and what actually happened.
7. In this next scene, we see a few guards in front of Roxxcart. Roxxcart has the same suffix as "Roxxon" i.e. Roxxon Energy Corporation. Roxxon was also seen in past movies as hints. Notice the yellow invisibles doors the guards are coming from. The doors are similar to the ones we see in the elevator in the upcoming scene. Also Loki was seen teaming with the guards to capture someone.
Loki appears to be working with the TVA or at least accompanying them in the mission at Roxxcart.
8. Next comes yet another seen of the hooded figure keeping a close eye on the
security cameras. It seems like he/she's trying to monitor someone or
trying to find someone.
9. In this scene, Loki seems to be tired and exhausted. If you look close,
this is the same kind of elevator seen earlier and now there is a red
door like entry point. This could possibly be the doorway to different
realities like the ones we saw earlier in the Roxxcart scene.
10. Now this scene is a bit more interesting. Notice that artwork in the wall,
there is a devil like figure. This could be MCU's Mephisto who is rumored to appear in the Disney+ WandaVision. So, this might
actually connect the two series. Also we see here Wilson's character
meeting with a girl or lady. Some say this might introduce Lady Loki but
I personally think this is a total different character which might be
important for the series too.
11. Next we see Loki with an iconic moment of spinning the knifes, ready for a
fight. Later on, we see two of the most important and gorgeous visuals
of the trailer.
We
see a moon almost crashing a planet. The planet looks a lot like Vormir
but this probably is a different one. And the next scene shows a girl
sitting on that same planet.
Everyone's
saying that this could be Black Widow. I mean, it definitely looks like
her, short red hair (at least it looks like that in that purple
light), and that black suit. But it may not be Black Widow but it could
be Lady Loki. There is also one more thing here. Notice the two lights at
two places in the sky, is those two suns of that planet or do they look
like eyes to you? Could this be a glimpse of Galactus as the planet
gets destroyed? It may be, or I'm just imagining things. But the thing
is, the two eyes were also seen in the "What if..?" first look which was
later confirmed to be the Watcher. So, MCU could also introduce
Galactus in that same way like it did for the Watcher in "What if..?"
12. In the next clip, we see Loki in his grey TVA shirt in a destroyed city.
This scene and the
scene of Loki in an elevator with those doorway things matches in a lot
of things, like his shirt and the same way he jumped. These two scenes may be connected. Also notice at the back, there are ruins of Stark Tower. So this might be the alternate reality where Loki won
the battle against the Avengers in New York and the world is destroyed.
13. Now this scene will need a lot of explanation. We see Loki dressed up with class, board a plane as D.B. Cooper. Yes, that D.B. Cooper
who hijacked Boeing 727 with $200,000 in 1971. He parachuted out of the
plane and was never seen. Later a few notes of money were found in
nearby shore which were the same notes D.B. Cooper took
14. In the next few scenes, there are lots of short gilmpses of Loki running
away from an asteroid hit (possibly that moon) on that same Purple
planet, Loki fighting a man in a store which is probably that Roxxcart
store as Loki was wearing that same clothes like he was seen before and
swinging a girl at a place which looks quite ancient.
This
fast speed scene, if you look closely to the bottom right side of
the screen on the wall of the house, it's written "LXXIX". This is
actually a Roman number which means 79. In 79 A.D, according to some experts a volcanic
eruption happened in Pompeii. Also if you take a look at the clothes of
the people, they look quite old and must belong to the ancient Roman
times.
15. In the next few shots, we see a few fights in different locations.
15. In the next few shots, we see a few fights in different locations.
Now, MCU seems to solve the unsolved mysteries of Human History through Loki. D.B. Cooper
disappearing is explained by Loki in disguise of that person. Finally we see Heimdall beam him up to Asgard through Bifrost as he jumps from the
plane.
16. In this last scene of the trailer, we see Loki in a green suit with that
iconic helmet, rocking that outfit. There is a "Loki" sticker on his
left chest with red and blue color and stars. This is a nod to the Vote
Loki comics where Loki is followed to a controversial political
campaign for President of United States.
This
could be a scene during that alternate reality where the world has lost
hope as it gets destroyed and then Loki comes up in order to lead them.
Here we see companions of Loki who also wears that "Loki" sticker but
at the end we see them betraying him.
If
you see the color pattern of the room, it kind of gives the vibes of
the room of Sakaar where Thor and Hulk were kept together. But this
might not be that same place. Also notice an arcade game at the far left
side of the scene. "Polybius" was the arcade game in Portland suburbs
that caused horrific nightmares at night to those who played. There were
news of the players of this game getting Amnesia after playing it.
Later on, there were no evidences of this game ever existing other than
internet stories. But now this big mystery is yet again solved by this
Loki series.

"As with our other shows coming to Disney+, we wanted to try something a little different. Explore a new genre for us at Marvel Studios. So, we have put Loki on the center of his own crime-thriller. If that sounds a little unusual and confusing, don't worry, Loki is just as confused."
