Stranger Things Star unsure of September filming restart

Stranger Things Season 4 production was supposed to restart on September but star Maya Hawke shows doubt in it. Maya Hawke joined the cast of Stranger Things Season 3 as Robin Buckley, an employee of an ice-cream shop "Scoops Ahoy" alongside Steve Harrington played by John Keery

Back in February 2020, the production of its fourth season was started but the gradual increase of Coronavirus cases forced the team to shut down in March. Filming is supposed to start back in September but star cast Maya Hawke told AP Entertainment that might not be the case. Being asked on the filming restart, Hawke said,

It was looking incredibly likely. We'll see. We are taking it sort of day by day with all of these stuff and trying to wait for cases to go down and make sure that we can go into it in a safe way. Netlix is being very responsible and so is SAG with their actors and their whole crew and trying to make sure people are safe. And so we are just sort of taking it day by day and waiting for the right moment. But everyone is dying to get back to work.

With such delays and doubts on resuming production, it seems that the early 2021 release date of the fourth season may get postponed. Finn Wolfhard mentioned that they are ahead of schedule back in June but the release date still the early 2021 release date is unrealistic.

It would have been great for the fans if the filming resumed this September. The stars of the series are gradually growing up and that may create obstacles in the Stranger Things plot as it is supposed to be a teenage adventure, action series. Moreover, a recent news also mentioned that Stranger Thing Season 4 won't be the last season. So, the filming should resume soon to get back in action and stay with the plot idea. It would have been great if the production of season 4 restarted on this September, but with this situation going on, it seems pretty unlikely.
