The Dodge Demon is the ultimate street legal Drag car

With a supercharged 6.2 liter Hemi v8, the Demon is the quickest production car in the world. But its brutal power has some people worried about more than the burnt rubber trails marking up streets. Dodge made the Demon fully drag strip focused because of which this car is barely legal. The Demon is the only production car to come with drag radials from the factory. The Demon is the first street-legal car that can do a wheelie and the first car to be fitted with the most powerful v8 ever.

Under the hood of this beast is a 6.2 liter supercharged Hemi v8 which can do 0 to 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and the quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds. Dodge engineers fitted a huge 2.8-liter supercharger- the largest ever fitted in a modern gas-burning engine that sucks a huge amount of air and pressurizing it to 14.5psi then jamming it down the throat of the 6.2 liter Hemi powerplant. This Hemi is completely different from the Hellcat with a forged steel crankshaft with a 90.9mm stroke and revised balancing which is secured against induction hardened crank bearing surfaces running in high load capacity and optimized main bearing clearances having as much of a difference as 10 microns compared to the hellcat. The Demons pistons are comprised of forged high strength alloy with an inclined box for added support. The Demon has two fuel pumps which can pump up to 1.36 gallon of octane per minute. The demon has the largest hood scoop ever fitted into a production car which Dodge named the Air Grabber it feeds the powerplant with a massive amount of air and the result is 808 horsepower on 93 octane, rising up to 840 horsepower on 100 octane and tuned ECU. An upgraded 8-speed automatic transmission and a strengthened driveline with shorter gearing send all 770 Ib-ft of torque to the tires. The Demon features a high tech cooling module that works with the water to air heat exchangers integrated into the supercharger housing. The cooling module includes normal engine coolant and the components of the SRT Chiller system which uses the AC refrigerant to keep the engine and the intake air cool. It may sound crazy but the Demon comes standard with only one seat from the factory it is because to save weight and to get the passenger seat is a dollar option. Another cool thing is the Demon crate which is a 1 dollar option that includes narrow front drag wheels and also a modified powertrain module which allows the engine to run on 100 octane unleaded fuel which unleashes the full potential of the Demon.

The Demon is a car that Dodge engineered to go well in a straight line that includes tires, suspension, steering, software, etc. And they succeeded in their goal.
