Since the events of Avengers Endgame, there remained confusions on the existence of the Infinity Stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The confusion clears as Marvel Entertainment posts a series of short videos on their official Instagram account.
To celebrate the arrival of Avengers Infinity War to Disney+, Marvel Entertainment posted a series of short videos on Instagram regarding the MCU's six infinity stones. Each of the video highlighted the status of the infinity stones and it seems that all the infinity are indeed completely destroyed.
Earlier, Directors of Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame, Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, stated back in May 2019 that Thanos only had reduced the infinity stones to the atomic size and they still exist in the MCU in that form. But the recent Instagram post contradicts the statement as it highlights the destruction of the infinity stones.
But we have seen the introduction of time travel in the MCU which may come of help when in need of infinity stones just like the events of Avengers Endgame as the infinity stones still exist in the past. We have already discussed about the possible villains of Phase 4 and for defeating them, The Avengers may need the help of the infinity stones. So, the introduction of time travel may prove to be a important turn in the Phase 4 and other upcoming phases in order to face the ultimate villains and defeat them.
