Villains that could replace Thanos in Phase 4!

After the defeat of Thanos, there arises a lot of questions of who could play the next big villain in the upcoming phase. There aren't many villains that could replace Thanos but there are some who can prove to be of great danger to the fate of Earth and also to the Universe.

We put together a list of 6 different villains that may get introduced in the MCU or may return. So let's just get into the ranking.

1. Ultron

Now I know what you guys are thinking that Ultron was already an Avengers level villain, he's done, he's not going to come back. But Ultron could still be alive. Even Bruce Banner did say Vision is made up by not just only Bruce and Tony Stark with Mind stone, but he's also made up of Ultron as well. Vision may be dead, but we would see his return in WandaVision Disney+ series. But without mind stone, we could see him fighting the villain tendency and as a result Ultron slowly takes over Vision's body.

If we are talking about possible returns of Ultron, the most likely would be using Vision's body. Wanda would do anything to bring Vision back and this hefty step might cost a lot to the superheroes.

2. Kang the Conqueror

Nathanial Richards, also known as Kang the Conqueror, is one of the most complicated villains in the Marvel Comics. Kang has been a powerful and interesting challenger to the Avengers and also teams like Fantastic Four. With genius level intellect and his time travel technology, he could play the next big villain in the MCU.

With the whole time heist in Avengers Endgame, the superheroes could have stolen the attention of Kang. While Kang is often less focused on cosmic scale destruction like Thanos was, his time travel abilities would prove to be quite challenging for the Avengers to face in the upcoming phases. Kang also has a deep connection with the Young Avengers, which we covered in our previous post.

3. Doctor Doom

With Disney having the rights to characters like Galactus and The Fantastic Four, there comes the name of another notable character, Doctor DoomVictor von Doom aka Doctor Doom, His intellect has allowed him advanced technology including Doombots and his power amplifying armor. Over time, he has mastered magic and thus is capable of energy manipulaton, energy shield, summoning demonic creature proving him to be a worthy challenger to Doctor Strange

His thirst for power, genius evil intellect and magical and technological abilities can prove to be a great  Avengers level threat putting the challenge on cosmic scale.

4. Red Skull

One of the earliest MCU villains was the crimson-faced Red Skull.  After the disappearance of Red Skull in Captain America: The First Avenger, Red Skull made a surprise return in Avengers Infinity War. The time when Thanos took the soul stone from Red Skull in Vormir, the Red Skull got free from imprisonment in Vormir, confirmed by The Russo Brothers.

Being free, it leads fans to a thought that where will this vengeful Nazi go next? This return of Red Skull can mean his return to take revenge on Captain America and thus can possess a threat to Earth.

5. The Celestials

The immensly powerful giant humanoid Celestials have already been present in MCU and are the oldest entities in the Marvel Universe. Introduced briefly in Thor: The Dark World and expanded upon with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, Celestials are extraterrestrial gods with the power equal or more than Galactus and Odin. With near invulnerability due to power in their armor and their power to create pocket universes and moving planets at will, The Celestial are of a great danger to the whole multiverse.

The Celestial may get introduced in the MCU through The Eternals movie which also will lead us to a journey of the Super-powered entities. Mysterious, powerful, destructive, the fact that there are many Celestials, could provide a dangerous cosmic threat, particularly if a set of Celestials emerged intending to conquer universe or destroy universe.

6. Galactus

As fan eagerly awaits for the arrival of Fantastic Four and X-Men, Reed Richard's superhero team could bring Galactus with them into the MCU. Galactus was previously rumored a favorite to Kevin Feige, and can surely bring cosmic level danger to all.

The origin of the infinity stones were already disclosed in movies like Thor: The Dark World and Guardians of the Galaxy. The stones are made from the remnants of the previous universe. Galactus was born before the universe of MCU. Galactus might have been the powerful remnant of the previous universe which later on was brought together as infinity stones after the Big Bang. Galactus was in the MCU this all time. It sounds crazy but yes, Galactus was hiding as in the Power stone. He is hiding or is trapped in the stone is still not disclosed. But since Thanos destroyed the infinity stones, it may bring back Galactus into the universe.

This might put together the pieces and bring Galactus in the MCU. The Devourer of Worlds sure will be of a great threat. In the Guardians of the Galaxy, we see The Collector showing the destruction of a whole planet by a celestial using the Power stone. The staff where the power stone was placed was similar to the helmet of Galactus which may have also resembled the existence of Galactus.

Now who else can destroy planets? Yes, it's Galactus. So, Galactus is really a villain and to beat him, Marvel will need to assemble the strongest Avengers in order to save the world and the universe.

These are the possible big villains which could appear in phase 4. There are also rumors of bringing the storyline of The Secret Invasion which includes the Skrulls. Whatever it is, Marvel won't back down to surprise us through the upcoming big movies.

Comment down your thoughts on the list and who do you think will appear in phase 4. Till then, Goodbye!
