Google is working on a docked taskbar feature for foldable Android phones

The foldable smartphone market is getting more heated up every year. There are also rumors of a potential Foldable Pixel Phone from Google. In the meantime, Google is working to improve the foldable experience on Android devices.

XDA Developers recently found out that the Mountain View Tech Giant is working on a docked taskbar for Android 12.1. The feature is in earlier beta builds of Android 12 and has found a tutorial along with some strings of code, which hints at how the taskbar would behave.

We don't know much about the feature. The dock would stay open on the home screen by default or when a split-screen view is initiated. It will hide once you open up an app in full-screen. Android 12.1's system code also points at optimized animations when folding and unfolding the screen. It also gave up an image of a folding phone with the docked taskbar.

It seems like Google is taking the foldable space quite seriously for good reasons, which makes us more interested in the rumored Foldable Google-made Pixel phone. Let us know how you feel about it in the comment section down below.
