WandaVision has shocked fans with it's mind-blowing ending and superb character transformation of Wanda. But there are still many aspects where the show disappointed the fans, like the huge cameo promised by Paul Bettany, which turned out he trolled us the whole time.
As confirmed by Marvel Studios, Doctor Strange sequel will directly connect with WandaVision and so fans believed the Master of Mystic Arts to appear in the show. But reality is often disappointing, we can agree with Thanos.
In a recent interview with Jake's Takes, Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch was asked about the absence of Doctor Strange in the finale of WandaVision. In response, he admitted that it would have been fun to see their characters together before the Multiverse of Madness.
Aww. I'm sorry to disappoint you. I don't know, yeah. I mean, that would've been fun I guess. It would've let into Lizzy's [Elizabeth Olsen's] involvement with movie [Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness] but, ah hell, you know. That's all to come. With such a big Hex Magic surrounding Westview, Doctor Strange should have sensed the aura of it, like the way Agatha Harkness had. Even a post-credits scene showing the arrival of the Sorcerer Supreme in Westview would have been enough. But also, Time Stone is now absent in the universe and that's quite a problem to solve for Doctor Strange which could be a reason behind this absence. Whatever it is, we will get the answers in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel which will star Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently filming with a theatrical release date of March 25, 2022.
