Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: James Gunn Debunks Adam Warlock Casting Rumors

The post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 put fans on a major cliffhanger, holding the introduction of Adam Warlock in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since then, fans have been speculating how and when will Adam be introduced in future movies. But it seems, this much-anticipated character may not come to MCU soon.

A recent report surfed the internet which declared a rumor of the production team searching for an actor capable for the role of Adam Warlock. But James Gunn, the director of the franchise, directly shot down the rumor through a tweet.

I mean, Gunn does have a point there. If he really wanted a Zac Efron type, he would have gone for Zac Efron. He further declared the rumor reports to be "nonsense" and shot down the hopes of Adam Warlock introduction. But that doesn't mean the character won't appear in future. It will come, in proper time, when the situation asks for it.

Adam Warlock is one of the strongest characters of Marvel Comics and such a strong character in MCU will definitely change the universe. With the Eternals joining the MCU, we cannot avoid the fact that Marvel Studios are up for bringing in god like characters to the universe.

Plot details for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 are still not revealed but it was confirmed that Gunn finished the script for the movie before he got fired and later on re-hired. It seems the story will not go towards the Adam Warlock arc as there are still some questions unanswered, like where is 2014's Gamora at this moment? How will Star-Lord react to her? It is highly possible that the movie will connect with the time-travel of Thanos, his army and Gamora.

While we are waiting for the third installment of our favorite Guardians, it is for sure that we will see them before that in Thor 4, playing smaller roles, which will affect the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is yet to start its production with release date of anytime in 2023.
