First device ever in the world to run the Snapdragon 870


Let's talk about the new flagship phone the Motorola Edge S. This device runs in Snapdragon 870. Thus it becomes the world's first device ever to run the silicon. Sadly, this device is only for sale in China for RMB 1999(US 310$). A global launch will come soon.

Now I'm going straight into the specs of it. 
 
 
1. Battery
 
Motorola Edge S has a battery life of 5000mAh. It supports a 20W fast charger and has a USB Type-C port. An important point is to be noted that wireless charging is not available on it.
 

2. Storage and specifications
  
It has a whopping 256Gb internal storage which is expandable up to 1Tb. It has a ram up to 8Gb of LPDDR5 RAM paired up with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870SoC.

 Previously it was thought that the device would rock Snapdragon 850+. But it turns out that it has a Snapdragon 870.
 
 
3. Display and Design
 
The Motorola Edge S has 6.7-inch HDR 10 certified IPS LCD panel having a refresh rate of 90Hz. The device has a gradient back with a fingerprint scanner embedded into the frame of the phone.The phone comes in an Emerald Light color  3.5mm headphone jack is there too.

 

4. Camera
  
Motorola Edge S has a quad-camera module at the back.
   • 64mp primary lens
   • 16mp ultra-wide-angle lens
   • 2mp depth sensor
   • ToF sensor
 
There are two cameras in the front
   • 16mp lens
   • 8mp wide-angle lens
 
 
5. Others
 
It has Bluetooth 5.0, Wifi 6 and a Desktop client named 'My UI'. The Motorola Edge S is on pre-order in China today and will begin shipping on February 3. It starts from price CNY 1,999 ($310 converted) for the 6/128GB model and ends with CNY 2,799 ($430) for the range-topping 8/256GB.
