The new Windows 10 update will finally bring Desktop Spotlight feature in Windows

Microsoft’s Windows 10 October 2020 update also know as 20H2, is right around the corner for general users. It seems like it is a minor update as there are not many new features being added . But Microsoft is working on a few interesting features to add in the next update. Microsoft is now testing desktop support for Windows Spotlight.

What is Windows Spotlight?

Windows Spotlight is a feature that can automatically change the wallpaper every day. So far, Microsoft has limited the feature to the lock screen and it is finally making its way to the desktop. Twitter user Albacore, first informed the world about this new feature.

After the update you will see an option named ‘Spotlight collection’ under Settings -> Personalization -> Background

Theme-aware splash screens on UWP apps is another feature that Microsoft is working on. The apps show the primary accent color in the splash screen. Though it is a subtle change, it is sure to bring some consistency in the Windows UI.
