When you reimagine a car as iconic as Corvette you get a beautifully sculpted mid-engine sports car that makes a powerful statement. After many years of waiting for the mid-engine Corvette, the pressure was on Chevrolet to deliver a modern-day icon and Chevrolet was successful by introducing the 8th generation Corvette on July 18, 2019, with three launch colors red, white and blue while the convertible made its debut on October 2 at the Kennedy space center. The C8 Corvette is not your everyday car, but a car that you want to drive every day.

Powertrain and Performance
The 2020 C8 Corvette is powered by a 6.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 called the LT2 producing 490 horsepower and 465 ib-ft of torque. With the performance exhaust that is part of the Z51 package, it makes 495 horsepower and 470 ib-ft of torque. The Z51 package also includes an electronic locking LSD (Limited Slip Differential) in the rear, bigger brakes, and summer tires (Michelin pilot sport). The power of the naturally aspirated reaches the wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission which is controlled either by a push-button gear selector on the center console or by using two large steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The C8 Corvette accelerates from o to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 122mph in a car equipped with the Z51 option and the FE4 magnetorheological dampers.

Interior
The new C8 Corvette is a two-seater, but the cabin is moved to the front to accommodate the engine in the middle. The interior is lined with leather and even has a stitched headliner. The driver sits behind squared-off steering and a 12-inch reconfigurable display and a large infotainment touch screen angled towards the driver for ease of access. This interior takes the driver-focused concept to the next level by splitting the interior with a tall bank of switches for the climate control. The Corvette offers two trunk areas one ahead of the passenger and one behind the engine giving a total of 13 cubic feet of storage space.
