Where is the Xiaomi Mi A4?

Xiaomi brought the Android One experience to the mainstream in 2017 with the launch of Mi A1 in 2017, which was an instant hit. It allowed the users to experience the clean bloatware free Android with the assurance of timely Android update.

Xiaomi's Android One supported Mi A3 came out almost a year ago. Considering Xiaomi's release schedule we should have got the successor at around this time of the year. But unfortunately there is no sign of the device.

Before the release of last year's Mi A3 some code were found in the app suggesting the existence of the device. The same can't be said about Mi A4.

The Mi A1 was rebranded Mi 5X, whereas the Mi A2 was the Mi 6X. Xiaomi launched a new series of phones last year  dubbed the Mi CC9 series, and the Mi CC9e. Mi CC9e ended up being rebranded as the Mi A3. Unfortunately, there's been no sign of an Mi CC10.

This also doesn't confirm the end of Xiaomi's A-series as it offers the best opportunity to experience pure Android in an affordable price. Xiaomi did a poll in 2018 asking if the users preferred MIUI or Android One. Android One got most of the votes, so Xiaomi is clearly aware of the fact that their customers want Android One device. The device could be delayed due to the pandemic though nothing is sure at the moment. We just have to wait and hope for the device to arrive.
