AMD Dominates with Threadripper Pro

AMD  hyped up their customers when they first released their Threadripper processors and put a lot of pressure on Intel. And now they have returned with their Threadripper pro series processors.

AMD announced that these pro series Threadrippers will come in four variants:
  • Threadripper Pro 3995WX(64 cores and 128 threads)
  •  Threadripper Pro 3975WX(32 cores and 64 threads)
  •  Threadripper Pro 3955WX(16 cores and 32 threads)
  •  Threadripper Pro 3945WX(12 cores and 24 threads)
These processors are based on their 7nm Zen2 architecture. They will also support PCIe 4.0 lanes and 8 memory channels for unmatched memory bandwidth.

These processors will have 27% higher performance then Intels best competitors, the Xeon platinum 8280.

AMD announced that these processors will only come with pre-built workstations. And Lenovo will bring these processors in there $4000 Think Station P620 which they hope to release in September  2020. For now, they are available in these workstations only but Asus and Gigabyte are working on their own units.
