OnePlus started out as a small smartphone company in 2013. Now their phones are widely used across the world as they offer great value for money devices. The company made their smart TV industry debut with the OnePlus TV Q1 released last year alongside OnePlus 7T. OnePlus TV Q1 started for 69,899(about $920) rupees and the Pro model started for 99,899 rupees(about $1300). Now it looks like OnePlus will focus on affordable TVs instead.
OnePlus co-founder and CEO Pete Lau took to Twitter today, to reveal that an affordable OnePlus TV is coming on 2nd July.

OnePlus India's Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Navnit Nakra, sat down for an interview with Economic Times to give us some more juicy hints. “Entry and mid segments are growing rapidly and have captured our focus. If we want to diversify to a wide audience in India, then it is the best way to start,” said Nakra in the interview.
So it is safe to say that OnePlus is hoping to appeal the mass by releasing easily affordable smart TVs. It is rumored that the company will launch two new OnePlus TV variants. There will possibly be a 32 inch HD smart TV priced 15,000 rupees(about $200) and a mid ranger series priced between 20,000 rupees to 40,000 rupees( $250 to $550)
We can expect slightly downgraded panels to help make the OnePlus TV series a bit more attractive for the Indian market. We can expect it to have 1080p or 1440p resolutions, especially as the current OnePlus TVs are all 4K UHD.
It is unlikely that OnePlus would launch this model on other countries like the United States and UK. But OnePlus CEO and Co-founder Pete Lau also said last year “We are also working hard to launch OnePlus TV in North America, Europe and China regions as soon as we establish partnerships with most of local and regional content providers.”
