Pokemon Journeys have accomplished a lot in just a few episodes. It is the most unique Generation of the Pokemon anime. Fans were really excited, when they came to know that the fan favorite Shalour City gym leader, Korinna would make a return in Pokemon XY. Pokemon XY and XYZ is still considered the best of the anime series. We can sense that Pokemon Journeys have the potentially to top that.
Ash's last battle with Korinna was one of the best gym battles in the entire anime. So the bars were really high for the rematch. The rematch was impressive but could live up to the battle that took place 6 years ago in Pokemon XY. But we think it is not the last of Korinna in the new anime. We think her Lucario will be the catalyst of change for Ash's Lucario.
Why Korinna becoming a main rival makes sense?

Ash is aiming to be world champion this time. So we will see rivals from different regions. Usually Ash's rivals have somewhat of a similar Pokemon. Like Hau having evolved form of Rowlet, Gary having the starter pf same region, Gladion having midnight Lycanroc. So this time we might see Korinna be that rival. We think Ash's Riolu will atleast have one battle with Korinna's Lucario.

So we think another match between Ash and Korinna will take place in the middle of the series. Around episode 80 max if writers really intend to make her a main rival. Ash's Dragonite beat Korinna's Lucario this time. So Ash won the first battle. The second battle could take place after Ash's Riolu evolves.

We are almost certain that he would lose that battle. This happened earlier too. Ash beat Sawyer a lot of time. But before the league, Sawyer defeated Ash only for Ash to be victorious in the Semi finals of the Kalos League. The same can happen this time. Riolu being evolved after the defeat would train harder and maybe in a tournament at around the end of the generation will beat Korinna's Lucario.
Ash's Riolu might also get a special exclusive evolution like Greninja, maybe Aura Evolution. So a fight between Aura Evolved Riolu and Mega Evolved Riolu would be epic. It will be a classic mentor vs mentee battle everyone likes
