Sometimes all you want to do is to watch a good movie that's going go bring out the bottled up emotions inside you.
And when you want to watch a movie with your friends, be it online streaming or real life movie marathon, you want to watch that perfect genre which goes with everyone's choices.
Here's a list of some of the best movies in my opinion from the past few years.
1. Dead Poet's Society (1989).
Lets start with something 80's themed.
Dead Poet's Society is a 1989 teen/drama film written by Tom Schulman and directed by Peter Weir. Dead Poet's Society is not your ordinary movie, rather it's a deep, heart touching movie that will bring tears to your eyes. The story is about a progressive english teacher who encourages his students to go against the rules and break free from norms and live life unapologetically. He inspires his students through the knowledge of poetry.
The movie inspires one to be a better teacher and to follow your dreams no matter what the boundaries are. The movie has taken my love for poetry to an entirely different level! Perfect movie for your poetry lover, bookworm friend.
2. Pitch Perfect (2012).
Pitch perfect is a 2012 comedy/romance Musical film directed by Jason Moore. The movie is about your typical highschool teenager Becca, a freshman at Barden University, who was cajoled into joining the Bellas, her school's all-girls singing group. They compete against another a Capella group from their college to win the Nationals.
The movie was followed by 2 sequels, Pitch Perfect 2 and Pitch Perfect 3.
This movie is nothing but a pure joy which wraps you up in belly laughs and catchy songs. A movie to watch with your bestie on a bright sunny day.
3. Mean Girls (2004).
Cadey Heron joins a new public school and befriends Janis and Damian. They warn Cadey to avoid the Plastics, a group run by Regina, the queen of the school. But things took a turn for the worse when she fell in love with Aaron, Regina's ex lover.
This movie is simply witty and smart with a story line that is far different from the main stream movies that comes out these days. I'd give it a 8/10 for its outstanding casts and comedy.
4. St Vincent (2014).
A young boy named Oliver who's parents have just divorced finds an unlikely friend and mentor in the misanthropic, bawdy, hedonistic, war veteran who lives next door. Vincent takes Oliver along on his trips to the race track, strip clubs and drive bar, and an unlikely friendship born with it. The man is mentor to the boy in his own Hedonistic way, and Oliver sees the good in Vincent that no one else can.
I'd highly recommend this movie and is sure to conjure up a tear or two.
5. The Handmaiden (2016).
The Handmaiden is a beautifully told story in a exquisitely shot film. Some of it's chosen locations are so captivating and mesmerizing, you almost feel like we as the viewers are there.
The movie is about a woman who is hired as a handmaiden to a Japanese heiress, but secretly she is involved in a plot to defraud her.
The movie is famous for it's plot twist, strong acting skills, intense, robust, gorgeous visual and great ending. I'd give it a 8/10 for sure!
That wraps up the list of some of the most amazing movies of all time(in my opinion) with really good cast and interesting plot twists to see and enjoy with your friends and families too.
