Resident Evil Village Animals Can Be Hunted & Eaten To Make Ethan Stronger.
More information regarding Resident Evil Village has come to light, including that animals within the game can be hunted and eaten to make protagonist Ethan Winters stronger. Resident Evil Village is less than a month from its release date. On the lead-up to the game's May launch, Capcom is slowly but surely releasing the floodgate of information about the game, and marketing efforts (such as larger-than-life Lady Dimitrescu promotional art) are sharply ramping up, as well.
Resident Evil 8 will reportedly act as the middle instalment to a trilogy, which is supposedly planned to conclude in Resident Evil 9. In Resident Evil Village, Ethan and Mia Winters have stayed together after their ordeals in Resident Evil 7, but the traumatic events of Biohazard haven't left them unchanged. The couple living in a remote European settlement with their baby daughter Rosemary kicks off the game's story, and it can be assumed (being Resident Evil) that things do not go smoothly for the small family.
Now, an exclusive Game Informer magazine cover story focusing on Resident Evil Village, broken down and shared by Twitter user AestheticGamer1, reveals even more new details about the upcoming survival horror game. According to the fresh information, players will be able to hunt animals, including chickens, pigs, horses, fish, and more around the open-world area. Once killed and collected, players will be able to take their meat to Village merchant The Duke, where he will proceed to make them into a meal. On eating the dishes prepared by The Duke, players will be able to buff Ethan Winters’ base stats of health, strength, and speed, meaning the mechanic sounds vital to keeping him alive. The mechanic of eating a meal to increase a player’s vitality is nothing new in gaming, but it's a first for the Resident Evil franchise. Whatever The Duke cook ups in Resident Evil Village will no doubt be better than what the Baker family from Resident Evil 7 had to offer Ethan, but only time will tell what more the better-defined protagonist will have to endure next.
