Rick and Morty Season 5: Bosses reveal more about the ongoing production and storyline

Rick and Morty's boss Dan Harmon reveal that the production of the fifth season of the hit animated show in more "on schedule" than ever.

Previously, the creators revealed that the Covid situation proved to be quite advantageous in the digital writers' room due to the online facilities. On a PaleyFest virtual conversation, Dan Harmon revealed, "We are more on schedule than we have ever been," (via Syfywire). "It kind of make you have to focus on the whole process when you don't have this office environment anymore. Everyone has to run this bee colony remotely, so the honey just gets made more consistently. It's working for us."

Harmon also teased a storyline for the fifth season. He revealed more about an episode which includes a relationship between Morty and another female character which is not Jessica. According to his statement, his very long time friend and collaborator Rob Schrab wrote this great little story.

In another panel, Harmon admitted he gets confused between season five and season six due to a certain reason. He mentioned of reviewing an animatic for a late season 5 episode and very late in the process of writing season 6. He also added that he was looking at the finales of both the seasons and also refining the finale of the new one and premiere of the next one which are making him forget the differences between the seasons.

The length of time between seasons of Rick and Morty was irritating to most of the fans. The time gap between season 3 and 4 was almost two and a half years. But season 5 will have lesser time gap and we also might get season 6 within a very short time (compared to other time lengths) after the finale of season 5. The premiere date for season 5 hasn't been revealed yet. Hopefully, it will be revealed soon enough to lessen the boredom during this situation and bring those lost happiness of all these months. Till then, stay safe and stay tuned with us!
