Change app icons in iOS 14 without using Siri shortcuts

With iOS 14, iPhone users are finally able to change the app icons of their devices. But as it is not directly supported by Apple, the enthusiasts have to use Siri shortcuts for this. As a result apps with custom icons take a bit longer to open. But now there is a solution to this problem as there is a better third party app for this.

Launch Center Pro has been a popular tool for customizing and creating quick shortcuts on iOS. The recent update to this app has solved the app icon customizability issue. The app uses Apple’s own Profiles system and installs custom “web clip” profiles. These web clip profiles directly links out to the selected apps. So as a result the users can make custom icons that work just like regular apps.

But the users will have to set up each app, one by one. Setting app icon using shortcuts may be easy but it is not a good option to use in day-to-day life. So this is a far better alternative to using Shortcuts.

The company is already working to add more functionality to the Launch Center Pro’s icon system. Options like saving multiple icon sets, the ability to share icon sets to other users, and faster import options to allow pre-made icon sets to be added to Launch Center all at once are in development.

The app is free in the Apple App store but the option to add custom icons require a monthly subscription or a one-time purchase for lifetime access.
