The Witcher Season 2 resumes production ahead of schedule

The production of The Witcher Season 2 has resumed and it looks like it is ahead of schedule. Previously, reports stated that The Witcher Season 2 production will resume on August 17. But recent set photos reveal that the production is currently underway.

Director Stephen D Surjik shared a photo in Twitter of himself with showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich watching scenes on a monitor, seperated by a shield barrier.

The Witcher Season 2 was in production at Arborfield Studios, 40 miles from London. Later on, the production was closed due to the gradual increase of Coronavirus cases in March. The release date of the new season is still not disclosed but Hissrich previously stated that the season would likely release sometime in 2021.

Regarding the story, Hissrich said that the story of The Witcher Season 2 will be simpler and easier to follow than Season 1. The first season was spread over different timelines which confused a lot of fans. She explained,

The story will be much more linear, now that the three characters' stories have started to intersect.

The Witcher Season 2 is likely to appear sometime in 2021. The recent Coronavirus pandemic has delayed the production and it may also affect the release date. But as it is confirmed to be released anytime in 2021, we can do nothing but to wait and hope for the best.
