Fans already know that the production fourth installment of John Wick starring Keanu Reeves is currently underway and the release date is pushed back to May 27, 2022 (USA). But it is now confirmed (via Deadline) by Lionsgate's chief executive that the studios aim to film the fifth installment consecutively after the fourth one. The studios' CEO John Feltheimer said,
We are also busy preparing scripts for the next two installments of our John Wick action franchise, with John Wick 4 slated to hit theaters Memorial Day weekend 2022. We hope to shoot both John Wick 4 & 5 back to back when Keanu becomes available early next year.
Currently Keanu is busy shooting Matrix 4 for Warner Bros. in Berlin, Germany. Keanu has already finished movies of Matrix franchise (Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions) back to back from March 2001 to August 2002. So, the star can also finish immediate projects of the Matrix franchise in the same way like before. Though we have to wait for more John Wick Keanu Reeves but knowing that the fifth installment is confirmed, we can get a relief and hope for the best as there's more to come.
John Wick 4 is currently scheduled for May 27, Memorial Day weekend, 2022.
