Director Of Chernobyl Johan Renck Is Working On The Pilot Episodes of HBO's The Last Of Us

It's been seven years since the release of this award winning game and still players are hooked with the story of the game of Last Of Us. The story is both beautiful and gruelling. Let's take a recap about the part 1 of The Last Of Us. The Last Of Us dropped on PlayStation 3 in mid - 2013 to critical acclaim. The action - adventure game, played via third- person perspective, has been described as a "brutal, heartbreaking journey" of survival for it's two main characters. It arrived on the PlayStation 4 the following summer and is arguably one of the best games in Sony's stable of exclusives.

HBO's adaptation of The Last Of Us will serve as a reunion of sorts for Chernobyl alumni. Johan Renck who directed the five-episode miniseries about the nuclear disaster of Chernobyl back in 1986, has reportedly been bought on to direct the pilot episodes of TLOU.

Earlier in March, HBO confirmed the series of The Last Of Us which Craig Mazin would be co-writing the series along with Neil Druckmann who wrote the story for the first installment of the game The Last Of Us and served as a co-writer for the second project. Mazin, if you recall, created the Chernobyl miniseries which won numerous awards including two Golden Globes and a handful of Emmy Awards.

In a normal and perfect world, the long-rumored sequel would already be in the hands of gamers worldwide but as we know reality is often disappointing and things rarely go according to plan. In April, developer Naughty Dog announced it was delaying the game due to logistics beyond it's control(likely Covid-19). Worse than that, leaked footages from the game surfaced the internet a few weeks later which later highlighted some huge and major spoilers.

The Last Of Us Part 2 is now scheduled to launch on PlayStation 4 on June 19, 2020.  Till then Goodbye!
