Great Moments In The Harry Potter Movies That Are Not In The Books

Harry Potter is one of the successful and famous franchise in the entertainment world. It all started with a book named Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone and J.K Rowling finished it in 7 parts which is the strongest number in the magical world. Due to it's popularity the books got its own adaptation. The movie was equally entertaining and did a great job portraying the magical world of Harry Potter. Though we say the movies excluded some amazing moments from the book but there are some moments in the movie which are not even in the book. So here are some of the moments that are in the movies but not in the books.

1. When Snape throws himself in front of the trio and protects them from Werewolf Lupin.

In Prisoner Of Azkaban we got to see Remus Lupin who comes as a teacher for Defence Against The Dark Arts in Hogwarts. In the movie we saw Lupin teaching Harry the Patronus Charm. Gradually Lupin's truth got exposed that he was a werewolf. At the last part we got to see Snape stands in front of Hermione, Ron, and Harry to shield them from Lupin when he becomes a werewolf. It shows that he still does his job, and he cares somewhat about them.

2. When Everyone Lights Their Wands For Dumbledore.

In The Half Blood Prince we saw Dumbledore dies in the hands of Snape. The lighting of the wands after Dumbledore's death to show respect. Maggie Smith and Gemma Jones' expressions and the soundtrack playing behind makes it more sadder.

3. When The Gryffindor Boys Mess Around Like Actual Kids.

In Prisoner of Azkaban on the first night back in the dorms. We get that scene of the Gryffindor boys eating the different candies and genuinely just having a moment that’s completely normal for a group of 13-year-old boys. It's one of the wholesome and rare scenes in the movie series where we just see people fighting around all the time.

4. When Professor McGonagall Teaches Ron To Dance.

In The Goblet Of Fire, Professor McGonagall demonstrate the dance for the Yule Ball and she chooses Ron as her partner. This scene is one of the funniest scene amid a serious plot which makes the viewers laugh every time they see it.

5. When Sirius Comforts Harry In His Time Of Need.

In Order of the Phoenix, Harry confides in Sirius and says he's scared he's becoming bad. Sirius tells him he's not a bad person, he's a very good person who
bad things have happened to. It shows a very vulnerable moment, whereas in the book, Sirius shrugs it off as Harry just needing rest.

6. Dudley Falling In The Snake Enclosure.

In Sorcerer's Stone, we see Dudley falling in the snake enclosure when the glass disappears. In the book the glass actually disappeared but Dudley didn't fall. It isn’t a big difference, but to  think it’s a really funny moment in the movies that gives Dudley what he deserves for bullying Harry, and it should have been in the books.

7. When Harry Reminds Professor Umbridge That He Must Not Tell Lies.

In Order of the Phoenix, when Umbridge is being taken by the centaurs, she tells Harry to tell them that she means no harm. And he comes back with, 'I’m sorry, Professor. I must not tell lies.' It’s so savage and perfect that I keep forgetting it’s not in the books!

8. When Seamus Repeatedly Blowing Everything Up.

In Every Movie we have seen Seamus repeatedly blowing things here and there even if it's performing a spell or making a potion. The gag with Seamus blowing stuff up in every single movie.

9. When Ron And Hermione Engage In Some Cute And Awkward Flirting.

In Prisoner of Azkaban when Ron and Hermione are at thShrieking Shack. She says, 'Should we move closer?' and Ron gets nervous thinking she means closer to each other. It gives a glimpse into the beginning of their romance.

10. Hermione's existence fading away from their family photos

This is probably one of the most emotional scene in the entire franchise. Hermione erases her parents memory for their protection. The camera then pans through their family photos as Hermione's pictures fade away, starting the final two chapters with a big emotional punch.

11.The Connection between Harry and Voldemort

In the second installment of the franchise, Harry finds himself in a dilemma whether should be a Gryffindor or he would suit better in Slytherin. In the books, it was clearly stated by saying Harry wondered about it. But in the movies, the directors and the writers found out a clever way of showing it. Harry's dilemma about Slytherin also reflects his worries about being similar to Tom Riddle. In the movie Dumbledore asks Harry, "Is there something you wish to tell me?" To which Harry replies, "No, Sir. Nothing" Dumbledore responds, "Okay then, off you go" Interestingly Riddle had the same conversation with Dumbledore and he also denied that he had any problem. This scene subtlety but cleverly connects the protagonist with the prime antagonist of the franchise.

12. Sirius Calling Harry "James" Right Before His Death.

In The Order Of The Phoenix, Harry and his friends went to the Ministry of Magic to find out the prophecy. But there they meet up with Death Eaters and they had an uneven battle with them. Until Remus, Sirius, Tonks, Kingsley and Mad-Eye Moody came. They helped them in the battle. At one point Sirius and Harry doubled team on Lucius and another Death Eater. When Harry Disarmed Lucius with Expelliarmus, Sirius replied, "Nice one James". Instinctively Sirius said that thinking he so doing that with his best mate James Potter. This scene is equally emotional and brilliant as it had no reference in the book.
13. Harry And Hermione Shared A Dance In The Tent.

In Deathly Hallows Part 1, we get to see heartfelt moment between Harry and Hermione when they both shared a dance in the tent. Amidst all the chaos unfolding around them the movie presented a touching moment to us which left the viewers wholesome. This moment is so touching even J.K. Rowling herself wanted to include it in the book.

So these are some of the moments we saw in the movie but wasn't actually in the books. Let me know about the scenes in the comments section. Till then Good-bye.
