Strating from Disney to Apple, everyone is launching their own streaming service. There is Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, HBO Max and many more. The number of streaming services can easily confuse the consumers who just want to enjoy their favorite shows and movies without keeping track of the services. The latest version of Google Chrome Canary suggests that Google is working on adding a feature to make accessing different streaming services easy for the consumers. The feature is dubbed as Chrome Kaleidoscope
As spotted by Chrome Story, the feature will list popular streaming services on a dedicated page. For now, it exists via chrome://kaleidoscope. The may initially include Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+. The description in the loading page reads, “You can see all your favorite shows in one place, no matter where they’re hosted.”
There is a high possibility that it will support cross-platform sync. The second page hints at a ‘Continue watching across all your devices’ feature. It seems like it would allow the users to continue watching a show or movie on a different device as long as it is linked with their Gmail account.
The feature is still in an early stage and it is unsure whether it would be made available for all users. Even in Chrome Canary the feature doesn't always work. “Chrome Kaleidoscope is not currently available for your account. If you are a Googler check out go/kaleidoscope-not-available for more information,” reads one of the pages. However, in some cases the page shows up a couple of screens of information before reverting to the error message.
