Android Go is a specially designed version of Android. Google released it in 2017 for low-end smartphones with lower specifications.
Recently, the Android 11 Go Edition’s configuration guide got leaked. The leak suggested that Google is thinking to make Android Go a mandatory requirement for all the future devices with 2GB RAM or less.XDA Developers reported that, Google will likely implement this change from the fourth quarter of this. However, there will most probably be no change with any device that has already been launched with 2GB of RAM or less.
The report also mentioned that from Android 11 onwards, any device having a 512 MB of RAM will not be able to preload Google Mobile Services (GMS), even if it includes upgrades.
XDA Developers thinks that the leak that has been leaked in April is a bit outdated and Google could also change their plans by now. But this changes don't seem bad as the devices with lower specifications would run faster with Android Go. So far nothing is confirmed yet. So take this as a grain of salt.
